“ Had an awesome night at Tacos Liquor and Alex deserves full credit for it. Easily one of the best servers I’ve come across. Super friendly, quick with service, and genuinely knew the menu inside out. His recommendations were spot on and he made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. Food was great, but Alex’s service really pushed the night from good to outstanding. If you’re heading to Tacos Liquor, you’ll be looked after if Alex is on shift. Highly recommend. ”

“ Hands down best tacos I've ever had. Dripping with flavour. I recommend the wagyu beef or kingfish. Tried plenty of places in and around Melbourne, nothing compares to this place. ”

“ The best Tacos in central Geelong, no question. Very tasty and reasonably priced. The cocktails were also delicious, can recommend the spicy margarita. I’ve eaten at the three other “Mexican” restaurants in central Geelong and the others don’t even come close. ”

“ Wonderful crispy tacos, I had fish, prawn and mushroom and side of corn. Be careful on ordering - if you order from specials menu, the $23 for 3 tacos and side does not apply. Liked the red sangria too, not too fruity, spicy went down well. ”

“ Tacos Y Liquor is the saving grace of local Mexican restaurants. I have tried many Mexican restaurants over the years and all of them have been dissapointing. Too many places serve tasteless slop masquerading as Mexican food. But have no fear, Tacos Y Liquor is here. Their tacos are tiny but they pack a punch. The pork taco was rich with zesty salsa and the rice and beans were simple and hearty. The cactus tapodas were totally unique. The cactus had a unique consistency somewhere between a mushroom and a capsicum. The one thing I wasn't fond of were the nachos, though the true hero of the night were the charred jalapenos. They tasted so sweet! Totally unexpected. Come to Tacos Y Liquor, you won't be disappointed. ”

“ Date/time of visit: 13 January 2024 at 7:00pm After a long day at the Portarlington Mussel Festival, we were on our way home and decided to have a small "snack" to rest, and replenish our energy prior to the long drive ahead. We looked at the menu in the window and hesitated at the prices. Given the price point and the style of the restaurant were were expecting smaller serving sizes for the tacos and the traditional size of authentic tacos (traditionally the shells appear to be much smaller than what you get at western Tex Mex restaurants). We decided to try it out and we weren't disappointed. The price point is 3 tacos for $20 (or $7 each; or slightly more for those on the specials board). The taco shells are quite oily (I don't know if traditional tacos are such; and this brought the star rating down a fraction for me) but the filling was wonderful. The feel of the venue is more of a bar with sharing plates of tacos to enjoy while drinking. However, we don't drink that much (usually one or two glasses depending on the alcohol) and one of was driving. We ended up ordering a second round of tacos (which tasted better than the first round). All up we had 10 tacos. One of us did have an alcoholic drink ($20). We also ordered the corn chips and a salsa (salsa was extra). The chips and salsa tasted good but there wasn't enough salsa for the serving size of chips. This was disappointing - price point of salsa and chips (combined) could be better. The venue felt trendy and it was popular. We were very happy with the food and the experience. I wouldn't consider it a casual night out based on the price and would do it more as a special treat. ”

“ WW! WW! WW!!! The food and service here are flawless and incredible! From the moment we walked in, Freya proved outstanding, genuinely kind, and fun, providing an unforgettable family-friendly experience. My children and I had a blast with the staff AND then.... the moment the food came out, my mouth dropped, and I was left speechless (extremely rare for me). If I had to be completely honest, I had to catch myself with every bite I took! I accidentally experienced (need to stop myself) "When Harry met Sally" moments at Taco Y Liquor, and I had to try my hardest to be silent-ish during every single bite of every dish we had. Everything just fits right here, the menu (drinks included), the staff - it really is so much more than a mouth-watering and unforgettable meal, it really is an experience. The staff are so knowledgeable about their menu and take great pride in their work and customers' satisfaction. I highly recommend going here. I also recommend trying their burgers at OK. Smash. Everything I've said, I extend to Alex, who is as incredible as Freya. I can't wait to come back. With all our hearts (and stomach's) thank you. Your employers are very lucky to have you all, and so are us customers. I honestly couldn't recommend you enough! Genuine service, smiles, and heart and unforgettable food! **Miraculously, the kids ate everything without picking out or complaining about anything ”
